We know that when replacing a timing chain or doing other upgrades that require you to time your 2.3L DISI MZR engine, a good timing kit is necessary. That’s why we wanted to provide a kit that will get the job done and make the process straight forward to get you back out driving ASAP. The CS Timing kit provides the tools needed to accurately set your motor at TDC and to also line up the intake and exhaust cams making sure that everything is in place when tightening down the cam gears. Check out the features of the Speed Timing Kit below!

We chose to include two aluminum crankshaft timing pins in the CS timing kit just in case one gets left in and damaged during the process. We did this so that you don’t have to go out and buy another kit just to get another timing pin. Arguably the best feature of the timing kit is the included bottle opener that is built into the cam gauge. This was an important feature for us to include because we know that after this job, you’ll more than likely want something cold to drink like we do.

The two included timing pins in the kit are made from 6061-T6 aluminum. We selected aluminum so that if the pin is left in, it won’t harm the engine, but will instead damage the pin. We also chose to anodize the pin in a bright red to make sure it doesn’t get overlooked and remain installed after the motor has been timed.

For the camshaft alignment plate we decided to go with 1/4" 304 Stainless Steel to ensure strength and to also make sure that it will always look as good as it did when it was brand new. The cam pockets are precisely machined to establish a tight and accurate fit when lining up your cams so that they will be spot on when you go to torque down the cam gear bolts.
