The result was full shaft separation which blew the outer case completely apart and destroyed the entire transmission – gearset, shift forks, final drive, OEM and billet housings, and all.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAfter installation of the SFR Billet Case Lock, when we had the same mainshaft failure occur again the outer case stayed intact which allowed us to replace the single failed component as opposed to having a destroyed transmission. Be aware of this if you choose to weld it.
