The recirculation fitting on K24s is typically part of the intake manifold which isn’t on K20 intake manifolds. We have designed the adapter to work with all K24 heads including the K24Z-Series (R40) heads. This can also be used to install K20 manifolds or cut RBC manifolds on 9th gen Civic si as the water bypass is slightly different and you will not need an intake manifold adapter when using the adapter. The adapter lowers intake air temps as coolant is no longer connected the intake manifold. Hondata has shown that intake air density will drop 1% for every 5°F increase in intake temperature. This is wasted power that can easily be gained back by using the adapter.   The adapter also features a 1\/8 NPT port for a coolant temp sensor commonly used in swap cars.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe Intake Manifold Adapter can be installed either using our spring-loaded tab or by tapping the head. We use Honda Bond or similar gasket maker as it provides a strong seal and when using the spring-loaded tab when the adapter isn’t under pressure there will be no chance of leak. The spring-loaded tab holds the adapter down with constant spring pressure to ensure a tight fit and seal. The other option is using the provided blind hole you can easily tap the head for the second hole. You then want to install the manifold and adapter on the head. This will ensure you are properly positioning the hole. Once you have marked where you want to drill remove the manifold and adapter. Place tape or plug the holes on the head for intake and coolant to prevent anything from getting inside.  You will use a 5mm or 13\/64 drill bit to drill the head to a depth of  at least 11mm (the depth of the bolt) but shouldn’t need more than 14mm. You can apply tape on the drill bit to ensure not to drill too deep. Once you drill the hole you will run your tap. Use a M6x1.0 tap and lube and do it slowly. Be careful not to tap too deep. You can start the thread with a standard tap but you should finish it using a bottoming tap. This will allow the bolt to use most of the tapped hole. Slowly start to tap the head and check fitment of your adapter often. The only short coming of this design, is that when taking the cooling systems highest point and ask it do dive down under the intake manifold, you are creating a HUGE pocket for air to collect! For this reason, I highly recommend a swirl pot, a fill pot, a filler neck, or at the very least... a vent (pictured) (listed in order of best, better, good). Lucky for you, I have created a fixture based off of the S2000 outlet, had custom tubes bent, and have welded them to my billet RWD housing... essentially mimicking the geometry of the factory S2000 intake manifold\/ water neck assembly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis option has allowed K swapped S2000's to reuse the factory upper hose and I'm starting to see more and more Non-Honda swaps going to that hose to solve there unique swaps connection issue. The only short coming of this design, is that when taking the cooling systems highest point and ask it do dive down under the intake manifold, you are creating a HUGE pocket for air to collect! For this reason, I highly recommend a swirl pot, a fill pot, a filler neck, or at the very least... a vent (pictured) (listed in order of best, better, good). The breather port is a 3\/4\"-16 SAE (-8AN ORB) port and was chosen because the factory crank case chamber is already rather restricted and larger fittings really wont do much but empty you wallet faster.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn late 2018 I redesigned the alternator mounting bracket due to some untimely failures that were ultimately traced back to the use of a specific alternator (D17 from the EM2). It was beefed up significantly (you can see V1 in the images below) and now includes a bolt and nyloc-nut rather than the special square Honda bolt and nut. The difference being, the special square bolt and standard nut from Honda allowed the installer to continue to tighten the nut against the two piece EM2 alternator, which compresses, until the mounting bracket tabs were pulled inward... almost to the point of failure and when mixed with heat and vibration, ultimately lead to random failure. The new combo is torqued to yield and the nyloc nut is used to ensure the bolt does not loose tension and back out. \u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe tensioner assembly is also machined from 6061 aluminum and uses US made QA-1 rod-ends and stainless steel jamb nuts. The tensioners adjustment range works for a vary large number of the alternator pulley\/ crank pulley combos... but its not always perfect. I say that its not always perfect because there are several factory and aftermarket crank pulley diameters as well as various generations of B and D series alternators, making the belt length unique. As a result, I'm reluctant to sell belts... I much rather sell the kit without and let you determine the belt length based on your specific choices vs. selling you a belt and then you having to either change the crank or alternator pulley... or shorten\/ lengthen the tensioner. \u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNOTE: The new alternator mounting bracket design has been created to address the issues associated with installers over-tightening the alternators pivot point; mainly an issue w\/ the D17 EM2 alternator and it its ability to collapse\/ give. The new mounting bracket is 60% thicker which allows for more initial torque (bolt to mounting bracket) and a nyloc-nut that can be torqued to keep the hardware from loosening.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVarious alternators may be used with this kit but due to slight variations in design... a very small amount of material may need to be removed from the alternator or the bracket to work with each other. Late model B and D series alternators with a ribbed drive pulley fit the bracket without any extra effort. The 2000-2001 DC2 Type R (B18C5) has the 2nd highest amperage output and the 1999-2000 Civic Si (B16) or 2001-2005 Civic (D17) have the lowest amperage. If you are looking for the highest amperage OEM option and you are either willing or able to modify the lower mounting ear of the alternator as well as buy a \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/tractuff.com\/products\/tractuff-s2000-alternator-bushing\"\u003ereducer bushing\u003c\/a\u003e for the upper ear; I recommend the 2000-2009 S2000 (F20C\/ F22C) alternator. The S2000 alternator conveniently has the same number of pulley ribs, rotates the same direction, and has the same plug as the K. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDue to the various K series crank pulley diameters (OEM \u0026amp; Aftermarket) as well as multiple alternator pulley diameters... I cannot provide belt lengths for every combo. The tensioner in this kit does allow for a wide range of adjustment, and in many cases the two belts I stock, work. You just need to decide if you are looking to use a 4 rib or 6 rib alternator.
